These are a couple of paintings I did at the Temecula Creek Inn. This is definitely the most beautiful golf course in Temecula, and a greta brunch as well.

Sunday at Lake Park

HB Surf Museum

Old Glory
These three were all done for the Huntungton Beach Plein Air Festival in September. I did a couple of more that I will post in the coming days.

These two paintings were done at Laguna Beach last weekend. I took a great workshop with Ken Auster-an amazing painter and teacher. I struggled with the limited palette, but loved the challenge of trying a new process.

Best of Show-Purchase Award
I just did this painting this morning and it won the Best of Show at the Ralph Love Plein Air Festival, in Temecula.  It was really hot, but I was set up in a nice shady spot... for a while.  The shade disappeared and I finished it in the baking sun, it was worth it though... one of my best I think.

Honorable Mention-San Clemente Plein Air Festival
I was excited to win an honorable mention at the San Clemente Plein Air Fest this weekend.  It's a very talented group of artists, and there were over 200 paintings there, so I it's definitely an honor.

I painted these the for the San Clemente Plein Air Festival.  The show opens on June 27th, and promises to be great as usual.  Hope I see you there.

I did this little painting and posted on my daily blog.  I thought it was working pretty well so I did a larger version, adding a few details.

I Painted at the Montage resort with a few friends from SOCALPAPA, it was overcast all day until I got in my car to head home...then the sun came out!  Oh well, I like to paint on overcast days, even though it was pretty cold in the morning.

Here is another painting I did at the North Park Plein Air Festival.  The sun really lights up the salmon hue of this church in the afternoon.  I had noticed it earlier in the week and made a sketch.  Then I returned on Monday afternoon to make this painting.

I painted this one yesterday morning for the North Park Plein Air Festival.  Sorry if it's out of focus, but I shot it on the street as I finished it and rushed off to do another painting.  I didn't get a chance to shoot the others, so I will post them when the show is over.  If you are interested, the show is at the San Diego Art Department,  3830 Ray Street-near Balboa Park. All pieces are displayed this weekend, and then the juried show will continue until June 14th.

I painted this one this morning again at La Creza winery.  I liked that fountain when I was painting yesterday and wanted to do another with it as the focus.

I painted this one yesterday at La Creza Winery.  I really liked the light hitting that gazebo and the grape vines.

I thought this painting looked lonely so added some people and cleaned up a few areas.

Just painted this one about noon at Thornton Winery.  It's a beautiful day, but still pretty cold in the shade especially in the morning.  I love these big tarp things and how the light hits them.

I painted this one at the LA Arboretum, the same day as the one I posted on Dec 16th.  I just found the time to finish it up this morning.

I did this painting a few days ago out at Maurice Carrie Winery.  It's a beautiful building at the base of several rolling hills that are covered with vines...very pretty.  I'm working on a series of winery paintings, one of my favorite subjects to paint.
